Civil Works Inspection

• Inspect drilled caissons, pile caps, and spread footings for:
  • Depth and diameter
  • Reinforcement placement
  • Cleanliness prior to concrete placement
• Monitor earthwork operations:
  • Excavation, backfill, compaction, and grading
  • Verify soil compaction and moisture content per ASTM D1557 and ASTM D6938
• Confirm subgrade preparation and stability prior to foundation work

Concrete Works

• Witness and verify:
  • Formwork installation
  • Rebar placement and embedment installation
• Monitor mass concrete pours, including:
  • Temperature control (per thermal control plan)
  • Curing procedures
• Perform fresh concrete testing:
  • Slump (ASTM C143)
  • Air content (ASTM C231)
  • Temperature (ASTM C1064)
  • Cylinder sampling and curing (ASTM C31)
• Review compressive strength test results and ensure compliance with ACI 301 and ACI 318

Structural Steel Inspection

• Inspect steel erection for:
  • Member alignment and placement
  • Bolt torque verification
• Witness field welding (fillet and groove welds) per AWS D1.1/D1.3
• Verify decking installation and fastening patterns per SDI standards and approved shop drawings

General Duties

• Maintain detailed daily inspection logs, non-conformance reports, and site surveillance records
• Coordinate with third-party testing labs and QA/QC managers
• Enforce inspection hold points and verify corrective actions
• Participate in:
  • Pre-pour and pre-weld meetings
  • Safety briefings and toolbox talks
• Issue and follow up on:
  • Site discrepancy reports
  • Non-conformity notices
• Submit daily reports and a monthly summary report to the Construction Manager
