T.E. Stevens Construction, a leading grading and utility contractor based in Birmingham, AL, is seeking an experienced Civil Construction Superintendent. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who can manage crews, oversee subcontractors, and ensure that civil construction projects are completed safely, on time, and to spec.

This position involves managing commercial, residential, and industrial projects - including site grading, water/sewer installation, concrete, and asphalt paving.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and coordinate daily site operations

• Supervise grading and underground utility crews

• Manage subcontractors and jobsite schedules

• Review project plans, contracts, and drawings

• Ensure work is completed safely and to spec

• Lead and mentor field crews

• Maintain records: timesheets, equipment logs, reports, etc.

• Operate equipment or assist labor crews as needed

Requirements:

• 5+ years of heavy civil or infrastructure construction experience

• Experience with site grading, utility installation, concrete, and paving

• Ability to read blueprints and project specifications

• Strong communication and leadership skills

• Working knowledge of civil construction equipment

• OSHA certification is a plus (can be completed after hiring)

• Must be authorized to work in the United States
