Join Our Innovative Team as a Civil Structural Engineer specializing in Light Gauge Steel!
Are you a highly skilled and detail-oriented Civil Structural Engineer with a passion for innovative design and a valid California PE license? We're looking for an experienced professional to lead the design and analysis of light gauge steel framing systems for diverse projects including commercial, residential, and mixed-use buildings.
This is an incredible opportunity to work closely with architects, developers, and contractors on cutting-edge projects and truly make an impact. If you have 5+ years of structural engineering experience with a focus on light gauge steel systems, we want to hear from you!
What You'll Do:
Design, analyze, and detail cold-formed steel structures in accordance with California Building Code (CBC), AISI, and ASCE standards.
Prepare structural calculations, drawings, and specifications for submittals and permitting.
Stamp and sign structural documents as Engineer of Record for projects within California.
Perform structural modeling using industry-leading tools like RISA, CFS, SAP2000, Revit, Telka Structures, and/or AutoCAD.
Coordinate seamlessly with architects, MEP engineers, and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.
Stay ahead of the curve on industry codes, materials, and best practices specific to light gauge steel systems.
Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and provide crucial construction administration support.
Mentor junior engineers and drafters, providing quality control and expert technical guidance.
What You'll Bring:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
An active California PE License (this is a must-have!).
5+ years of hands-on structural engineering experience with a strong emphasis on light gauge steel systems.
Proficiency in relevant structural analysis software (e.g., RISA, CFS, ETABS, STAAD, AutoCAD).
Strong knowledge of cold-formed steel design, lateral systems, and seismic considerations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills – you're a team player!
Ability to expertly manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Bonus Points for ( Qualifications):
Experience with design-build delivery or coordination with panelized/prefabricated systems.
Familiarity with DSA or OSHPD project requirements (strongly desired).
A PE License in other states.
An SE License (Structural Engineer – CA) is a plus, but not required.
