Civil/Structural Designer

The Civil/Structural Designer will support multiple small to mid-size projects in the chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas refining industries. This person will work under the supervision of lead engineer and will be the lead, senior structural/civil designer on the assigned projects.
Technical Knowledge
Proficient in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant 3D and Advance Steel
Laser Scan data utilization skills are a plus
Working knowledge of applicable industry codes/practices for design, construction and safety
Relevant civil design experience that includes site plot plans, erosion and sediment control plans, containment berms, stormwater plans, underground utility piping plans, industrial roadways, loading docks, and truck & railcar unloading/loading racks/spots.
Working with the engineer, develop key deliverables and drawings including foundation drawings & details, underground pipe details, structural steel building, equipment, piping and cable tray support drawings & details, connection details, etc.
Ability to respond and interact with Client and Constructor Contractors with RFIs
A strong drive to deliver against schedule, budget and quality commitments
Familiarity with health and safety regulations
Analytical thinker with interpersonal skills
Attention to detail with excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated collaborative
Qualifications
Minimum 10 years of structural design experience that includes supports, pipe & cable tray racks & bridges, industrial buildings, reinforced concrete foundation structural steel platforms, equipment supports, pile support systems, pipe supports, cable tray suns, piers, pile caps and slabs.
Petrochemical refinery/chemical/pipeline industry experience
Ability to contribute scope and workhour estimate information for multiple project proposals
TWIC card required
A strong drive to deliver against schedule, budget and quality commitments
Ability to work in heavy industrial environments
Working knowledge of applicable industry codes/practices
Non-Technical Skills
Must have strong verbal and communication skills in the English
Work experience working with multi-discipline teams
