Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Site Civil Engineer to lead and expand their civil site practice in theirCharleston, SC office. This Direct Hire/Permanent senior leadership role calls for a dynamic professional with a proven track record in business development, staff leadership, and project delivery. The successful candidate will be responsible for shaping the strategic direction of the site civil group, building strong client relationships, driving new business opportunities, and ensuring the groups overall growth and financial performance.
This role offers the opportunity to lead a talented team, mentor junior staff, and deliver high-quality site development projects across the Lowcountry region. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, local market knowledge, and a passion for delivering innovative and sustainable civil engineering solutions.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Partner with office managers and practice leaders to implement strategic growth plans.
Establish and expand market presence in the Charleston/Lowcountry region through marketing and business development initiatives.
Manage departmental budgets, allocate resources effectively, and ensure profitability.
Lead proposal development and participate in project pursuits.
Serve as a technical resource and mentor to project managers and engineering staff.
Identify staffing needs, interview and hire team members, and build a strong technical group.
Conduct performance reviews and support staff development through goal setting, coaching, and continuous feedback.
Provide strong leadership, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team culture.
Required Experience
Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an accredited program.
Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent.
10+ years of experience in site civil engineering, including site design and permitting.
Demonstrated success in project management and business development.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with design software (e.g., Civil 3D) a plus.
