We are looking to add a Transit Project Engineer, PE who will help foster our mission that All People Should Live in Safe, Sustainable and Beautiful Communities!

As a Transit Project Engineer, you will lead and/or oversee transit engineering studies, preliminary designs, final designs, technical specifications, and cost estimating related to bus rapid transit, streetcar, light rail, and multimodal/active transportation projects.

We seek candidates with a high capacity for self-motivation who can apply engineering and transportation engineering knowledge to various projects. You should also be able to develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and staff from various agencies. This role can be based out of any of our Twin Cities locations and offers a hybrid work schedule.

What You Will Be Doing:

Perform detailed design computations

Conduct preliminary layout, modeling, and design

Research and prepare rough drafts of preliminary reports and feasibility studies

Assist with project design, plans, specifications, and prepare cost and quantity estimates

What We Are Looking For:

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university

Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.)

12+ years of progressive experience in civil engineering, including transportation and municipal infrastructure

6 or more years of responsible transit experience or equivalent

Knowledge of federal transportation project processes and requirements

Knowledge of transitway project development

Knowledge of MMUTCD and Highway Capacity Manual

Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, GeoPAK Drainage, HydroCAD, P8, and GIS

Valid driver’s license and personal transportation; travel expenses reimbursed

Salary Range:

$68,000 - $120,000, depending on experience and credentials
