Civil Operative – Openreach Network | West Sussex

Contract: 3–6 Months (Potential to Extend to Permanent)

Fox Morris Group is recruiting on behalf of a leading telecommunications and civils contractor working across the BT/Openreach network. We are seeking experienced Civil Operatives to join our client’s team in West Sussex. s.



As a Civil Operative, you will carry out a range of civils activities on the Openreach network, including excavation, duct installation, core drilling, modular box construction, and reinstatement. You must be fully competent working to Openreach standards and able to deliver high-quality work safely and efficiently.



Key Responsibilities



* Perform excavation works (hand digging and machine-assisted).



* Install ducts, chambers, and modular boxes to Openreach specifications.



* Conduct core drilling, duct blockage clearance, and duct repairs.



* Complete reinstatement to a high standard (tarmac, concrete, block paving, topsoil).



* Work safely and compliantly in line with NRSWA and Openreach requirements.



* Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines.



* Maintain accurate work records and follow client reporting processes.



* Always promote safe working practices.



Essential Requirements



* Minimum 5 years' experience on the Openreach network (civils/fibre infrastructure).



* BT Accreditation.



* Full NRSWA / Streetworks (Units 1–9).



* Openreach Q-Codes:



* Q019 – Core Drilling



* Q020 – Duct Blockages



* Q021 – Duct Laying



* Q013 – Modular Box Building



* SA006 – Safe Working in Civils



* Ability to dig, lay, install, and reinstate to Openreach standards.



* Full UK driving licence.



* Based in West Sussex or able to commute daily.
