Job Description

A leading regional Legal 500 recognised law firm are currently looking to recruit an experienced Solicitor to join their Actions Against the Police department in Liverpool. They are a progressive and expanding law firm with a strong reputation for upholding civil liberties and holding public authorities to account.

Their civil Actions Against the Police team is growing, and they are looking for a driven and passionate solicitor (or legal executive) to join a supportive team. Offering high quality, high value work, hybrid working in a supportive and collaborative envrionment.

Re-train Opportunity

Applications are welcome from solicitors or legal executives with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in general civil litigation who wish to retrain to deal with actions against the police work.

The Role

You will manage a caseload of civil claims against the police and public bodies. You will be acting for clients in matters such as:

• Unlawful arrest and false imprisonment
• Human rights breaches
• Malicious prosecution
• Judicial reviews

This is a highly rewarding role for someone with a solid litigation background and a commitment to access to justice. The caseload is varied and primarily multi-track, with civil jury trials a regular feature.
