Civil Engineer – Highways & Drainage - Leeds\n\nLocation: Leeds\n Salary: £37,000 – £45,000\n Experience: 3–7 years\n\nA leading multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy is looking for a Civil Engineer with a strong background in highways and drainage design to join their growing Leeds team. You’ll work on a wide portfolio of UK infrastructure projects, supporting local authorities, developers, and frameworks.\n\nWhat you’ll be doing\n\nDelivering design work for S278, S38, S104 and wider infrastructure schemes\nProducing highways and drainage designs from feasibility through to detailed design\nWorking with DMRB, local authority standards, and active travel guidance (LTN 1/20)\nProducing drawings, reports, and technical documentation\nCoordinating with internal teams across structures, transport planning, and environment\nSupporting senior engineers and mentoring juniors where appropriate\n\nWhat they’re looking for\n\n3–7 years’ experience in civil, highways, or drainage engineering\nStrong knowledge of UK design standards (DMRB, SuDS, local authority guidance)\nExperience with Civil 3D or AutoCAD, and drainage software such as MicroDrainage / Causeway Flow\nAbility to deliver highway geometry, drainage layouts, and general civil engineering details\nGood communication skills and experience working with public-sector or consultancy clients\n\nWhat’s on offer\n\n£37,000 – £45,000 salary\nHybrid/flexible working\nModern Leeds office with a collaborative design team\nExposure to major UK infrastructure schemes and progression towards Senior Engineer
