Civil Engineer

JOB SUMMARY: The Civil Engineer will assist civil project design phases and work closely with Senior Civil Engineers.
JOB DUTIES:
- Review civil design schedule to align with target dates for deliverables.
- Observe project strategy meetings within discipline.
- Assist with site layout and design, grading, Storm water drainage, sanitary sewer design and erosion control design.
- Review flood studies.
- Review and assist with development of pavement and roadway design for industrial and commercial projects.
- Coordinate with various disciplines for seamless project execution.
- Interface directly with clients and external partners.
- Maintain Civil Design/ engineering standards and procedures.
- Comply with Companys Quality Control and Project Management procedures.
- Develop and maintain relationships with employees at all locations.
- Promote a positive working environment in order to achieve the organizations goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed in a Vestal Corporation office.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and able to operate a computer and other office equipment.
- Must be able to move about the office to access office equipment and other office buildings within the Vestal office complex.
- This position frequently communicates with others and must be able to exchange accurate information.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILL / ABILITY / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
- Working towards Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering is required.
- Familiar with AutoCAD and Civil 3D is strongly .
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Requires effective time management skills, personal conduct, and change management abilities.
- Ability to effectively interact with co-workers, clients, vendors, and other business contacts.
