Role Description:

Intellectual Concepts is seeking a Transportation Design Engineer to join the team in Atlanta, GA or Birmingham, AL. The Roadway Engineer will be responsible for the collection and analysis of data for the preparation of roadway designs. Job duties include performing design calculations, conducting investigative analyses toward completion of assigned design tasks, directing the preparation of design drawings and/or specifications, preparation of roadway/surface models utilizing applicable design specifications to meet state and local requirements. Job duties also include collaborating on proposed opportunities and advance proposal efforts on behalf of the company.

Successful applicants for this position must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine and be fully vaccinated, or have a valid waiver, by date of hire. Proof of vaccination is required.

Role Accountabilities:

Assist in new business development by contributing to strategic planning, marketing, assisting with proposals and business operations planning

Perform professional civil engineering work and assist with conducting research and inspections of proposed and existing site conditions, resources, building, infrastructure, and transportation channels to determine conformance with applicable rules, standards, and construction or operating permits.

Coordinate with project team, contractors, vendors, and other consultants to ensure compliance with engineering standards, codes, specifications, and design requirements

Provide internal quality control for construction drawings, design calculations and specifications to ensure technical accuracy, conformance to project requirements, and overall constructability

Work with Project Management to ensure projects are completed on schedule and under budget

Must be able to independently manage project tasks

Maintain organized documentation/archives of design files, drawings, and construction submittals

Deliver analysis, plans production and other technical activities for various state and local government agencies and private clients.

Provide construction assistance and respond to requests for Information as necessary

Requirements

Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology

EIT required, PE highly

Minimum 5-10 years of experience in surface/roadway design

Experience working on GDOT/ADOT infrastructure projects highly desired

Strong computer skills including MS Office suite

Knowledgeable in job cost, scheduling, safety, and construction concepts

Must be a US or Legal
