The Engineer will form part of an operational management team where they will manage operational staff and consultants / contractors across a range of public sector projects.Benefits3 days hybrid workFlexi TimePensionKey ResponsibiltiesOperational Management:Supervise maintenance and construction site activities, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and risk assessments.Manage consultants and contractors to safeguard and enhance canal assets.Conduct site surveys, asset inspections, and prepare associated reports.Coordinate project designs, submissions, and tender documents in compliance with statutory requirements and organizational policies.Progress Management:Monitor and report on maintenance and construction progress to ensure timely, budget-compliant, and quality delivery.Review and contribute to planning applications.Health, Safety, and Environment:Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and procedures.Undertake safety inspections, risk assessments, and implement remedial actions.Liaise with environmental bodies and consider environmental factors in project construction.Strategic Contribution:Assist in developing organizational policies, strategies, and standards.Provide data for financial and progress reports on projects under supervision.Stakeholder Relations:Uphold organizational regulations and standards.Cultivate productive relationships internally and externally.Collaborate with various stakeholders including authorities, community groups, and political representatives.RequirementsPossess a Degree (2.2 or above) in Civil or Structural Engineering or an equivalent qualification.Full driving licence and use of a vehicle.Have 2 years post qualification experience of working in an operation and maintenance environment, at least one of which includes management of staff.Possess knowledge and understanding of the key issues involved in the field of Civil/Structural EngineeringExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writingPossess knowledge and understanding of health, safety and welfare issues associated with construction and maintenance worksHave experience and ability in the use of IT based engineering equipment/engineering design toolsExcellent project management and problem-solving skillsST-IND-23NK-875 Tags:
