Job Description
Our Water consultancy client is seeking a Civil Design Lead on a permanent basis working out of Croydon offices with hybrid working considered.\n\nThis role offers the opportunity to take technical ownership of multidisciplinary design packages, lead coordination between disciplines, and ensure high-quality project delivery across major UK water frameworks.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nLead and manage civil design delivery on water infrastructure and non-infrastructure schemes.\nOversee and review detailed designs, drawings, calculations, and reports.\nCoordinate with internal teams across civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical disciplines.\nSupport project planning, scheduling, and resource management to meet deadlines.\nEngage directly with clients and contractors to ensure design quality and compliance.\nPromote health, safety, sustainability, and quality in all design outputs.\nProvide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and technicians. \n\nSkills/experience/qualifications \n\nDegree in Civil Engineering or equivalent professional experience.\nExtensive experience in civils design delivery for the UK water sector.\nStrong understanding of infrastructure and non-infrastructure design principles.\nProven ability to lead multidisciplinary design teams.\nCompetence in AutoCAD, Revit, and a working knowledge of BIM.\nExcellent communication and coordination skills.\nChartered or Incorporated Engineer (ICE) desirable\nNEC contract experience\nFamiliarity with sustainable design practices and digital delivery methods. \n\nBenefits\n\nSalary £60-70k depending on experience\nHybrid working (3 days in Croydon)\nProfessional memberships paid\nBonus for achieving chartered status\nPrivate medical\nLife assurance x4\nPension 5% employer contribution\nGenerous holiday\nCompany sick pay\nVolunteering leave
