CHP Maintenance Engineer
Responsibilities:
Travel to customer sites across the UK to carry out routine servicing and first-response breakdowns on CHP units ranging from 30kW to 500kW
Perform a mix of planned and reactive maintenance, with occasional overnight stays depending on site location
Produce detailed site service reports, clearly identifying faults, remedial actions, and improvement opportunities
Liaise effectively with customers, service coordinators, and the wider technical team to ensure smooth service delivery
Provide technical support to colleagues and contribute to the wider technical support function
Support internal and customer training activities where required
Maintain strict health & safety standards, including completion of risk assessments and method statements
Act as a professional brand ambassador, representing the business to a high technical and ethical standardRequirements:
Minimum 3 years’ experience as a CHP Service or Maintenance Engineer, or within a closely related power role
Strong practical knowledge of LTHW hot water systems, including pumps, inverter drives, flow rates, delta T, boilers, and BMS interfaces
Solid electrical engineering knowledge of LV power and distribution systems
Experience with CHP control and monitoring platforms such as ComAp, Web Supervisor, InteliMonitor, LiteEdit, TEM / TPEM
Comfortable working with diagnostic equipment including flue gas analysers and digital flow / temperature profiling tools
Confident working independently in the field while maintaining strong communication with office-based teams
Positive, proactive mindset with strong customer-facing skills
Willingness to travel, cover high mileage, and stay away from home when requiredEssential Qualifications:
Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification
18th Edition (IEE Wiring Regulations)
Strong IT skills (Outlook, Excel, Word) and experience using laptop-based engine control software
Manufacturer training (e.g. MWM)
