A leading civil construction company is seeking a Chief Estimator to oversee the estimating department for large-scale infrastructure projects. The Role
The Chief Estimator will manage the full estimating function, ensuring precision, efficiency, and competitiveness across multiple concurrent pursuits. Reporting to pre-construction leadership, this role will serve as a key link between estimating, project management, and operations. Success will be defined by delivering winning bids, mentoring a strong team of estimators, and ensuring seamless handoff into construction execution.
Responsibilities

Lead estimating operations across multiple bids and pursuits simultaneously.

Oversee and review project takeoffs, material pricing, and final bid proposals.

Ensure estimates are accurate, competitive, and submitted on time.

Mentor and develop Senior Estimators, Estimators, and junior staff, providing training and leadership.

Collaborate with pre-construction and project management teams to ensure smooth transition from estimating to project execution.

Drive consistency, efficiency, and continuous improvement in estimating processes.
Requirements

5–10 years of civil estimating experience with proven leadership responsibilities.

Strong technical knowledge of earthwork, grading, wet utilities, and mass excavation.

Experience across both public and private sector projects.

Advanced proficiency in AGTEK, Heavy Bid, HCSS, and On-Screen Takeoff.

Demonstrated ability to manage, mentor, and grow high-performing teams.
Salary
$150,000 – $180,000+ DOE, plus performance-based bonuses.
