Chief Estimator
Job Description
Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Chief Estimator to join a well-established electrical contractor based in Orlando, Florida. This is a key leadership position with outward-facing responsibilities, serving as the liaison with clients and driving the company’s estimating function.
There is the opportunity to relocate to Orlando from any other state.
This is an office-based role with no field duties, but you will play a critical role in client engagement and project acquisition. The current Chief Estimator is preparing for retirement in the next 3–5 years, and the ideal candidate will be positioned to transition into this leadership role over time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the estimating team in preparing competitive and accurate project bids.
- Serve as a primary point of contact with clients during the preconstruction and bidding phases.
- Work closely with leadership to ensure a smooth transition of key client relationships.
- Analyze and interpret blueprints, specifications, and addenda to prepare complete bid packages.
- Collaborate with project managers and senior leadership on estimating strategies and risk assessment.
- Maintain knowledge of current industry trends, material pricing, and labor costs.

- K-12 and higher education institutions
Qualifications:
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in electrical estimating, preferably within commercial and institutional sectors.
- Proven ability to lead an estimating team and interface confidently with clients.
- Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of local codes, and construction methodologies.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
