A leading Tier 1 contractor is creating a brand-new Chief Engineer position to support the delivery of a portfolio of major new-build projects across several regions in England.\n\nThis newly introduced role offers the opportunity to take ownership of engineering excellence across multiple projects, providing technical leadership from design through to construction. You'll work closely with project teams, designers and senior management to ensure engineering solutions are safe, compliant and delivered to the highest standards.\n\nThe Role\n\nAs Chief Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical oversight across a number of live projects, ensuring engineering standards are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.\n\nYour responsibilities will include:\n\nProviding technical leadership across multiple new-build projects.\nWorking collaboratively with design teams to develop practical, buildable engineering solutions.\nManaging and reviewing engineering documentation.\nProducing, reviewing and approving RAMS.\nLeading technical and design review meetings.\nEnsuring compliance with relevant standards, specifications and client requirements.\nSupporting construction teams with engineering challenges and technical queries.\nDriving engineering best practice and continuous improvement.\nMentoring and developing engineering teams.\n\nRequirements\n\nDegree qualified in Civil Engineering (essential).\nPrevious experience in a Chief Engineer, Construction Manager/ Engineering Manager or Senior Engineer position.\nExperience working for a Tier 1 contractor on major construction or infrastructure projects.\nStrong understanding of engineering assurance, design coordination and technical governance.\nExperience preparing and reviewing RAMS.\nAbility to lead technical reviews and provide engineering direction.\nExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills.\nFull UK driving licence.\n\nWhat's on Offer\n\nCompetitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.\nCompany car or car allowance.\nLong-term career opportunities within a leading Tier 1 contractor.\nThe chance to work across a diverse portfolio of major new-build projects.\nA varied role involving regular travel between project locations
