Job Title: Field Operator - Chemical Operator
Location: Carlsbad, NM
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 5/2 | 6:30 AM – 3:00 PMPosition Overview
The Field Operator will be responsible for day-to-day field operations, monitoring production equipment, and performing preventative maintenance and minor repairs on wells and associated facilities. This position requires hands-on operational experience and a solid understanding of production systems, chemical applications, and safety procedures in oil and gas environments.
The ideal candidate will have prior lease operator or chemical operations experience, a strong mechanical aptitude, and proficiency with Microsoft applications for daily reporting and data entry.Key Responsibilities
• Monitor and record production data from wells, tanks, and equipment
• Perform routine maintenance and operational checks on pumps, separators, and chemical injection systems
• Troubleshoot equipment and production issues to ensure optimal performance
• Adjust chemical injection rates and assist with field sampling or chemical treatments as directed
• Communicate daily with production foremen, engineers, and field support teams
• Ensure environmental and safety compliance with all operational procedures
• Utilize Microsoft Excel, Word, and internal systems to track production metrics, downtime, and maintenance activity
• Participate in routine safety meetings and maintain a clean, organized work areaSkills and Qualifications
Education & Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Previous lease operator or chemical technician experience required
• Background in oil and gas production operations
Technical Skills:
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Knowledge of basic production equipment, flowback systems, and chemical injection pumps
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
Personal Attributes:
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently in the field
• Detail-oriented with strong communication and reporting skills
• Safety-driven with ability to follow established operational procedures
• Must be physically able to work outdoors in varying conditions and lift 50+ lbs
