Seeking an experienced Instrument & Electrician Technician to support electrical and instrumentation systems in a chemical processing environment. Responsibilities include installation, maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of control and electrical equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations



Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect, maintain, and repair electrical and instrumentation systems used in chemical processes.
  • Troubleshoot equipment faults using test instruments, schematics, and control logic.
  • Calibrate transmitters, sensors, and control loops to maintain process accuracy.
  • Install and commission new wiring, instruments, and control devices per plant and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and maintain detailed service records.
  • Ensure all work complies with NEC, IEC, OSHA, and plant safety standards.
  • Recommend system improvements and assist with project upgrades.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to resolve technical issues.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical certification in Electrical or Instrumentation .
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a chemical, refinery, or process plant environment.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, control circuits, and instrumentation.
  • Skilled in reading P&IDs, loop diagrams, and wiring drawings.
  • Proficient with calibration and testing tools (multimeters, loop calibrators, process meters).
  • Familiar with PLCs, DCS, and safety instrumented systems.
  • OSHA, NFPA 70E, or related safety certifications .

Working Conditions

  • Work performed in indoor and outdoor process areas with exposure to noise, chemicals, and temperature changes.
  • May require working at heights, in confined spaces, or around hazardous materials.
  • On-call availability for emergency maintenance or shutdowns.
