The Tesla Energy Products team is bringing battery, solar and charging technology to the grid to facilitate a renewable energy ecosystem and redefine the way the world will use energy in the future. As part of the Systems & Architecture team, you are the design leadership that translates system operation into value for our customers. Leverage your physics fundamentals, systems optimization thinking, economic understanding, and simulation tools experience by leading Tesla's strategy to meet customer's needs. This role involves collaboration with Designers, Engineering, Sales and Finance, and requires the ability to distill highly technical information and effectively communicate with other teams and management. Responsibilities
Own the functional behavior of the charging products as they interact with the grid and vehicles
Collaborate with the sales team to understand customer needs and application requirements
Create detailed computational models to simulate system performance and behavior
Analyze data to generate performance reports and metrics, and provide clear, actionable insights on expected vs actual system behaviors
Implement continuous improvements to the models to ensure they remain accurate, reliable, and aligned with industry standards and customer expectations
Work directly with system test team for system test plan development and validation of system design requirements
Document requirements and provide company leadership on system behavior and functionality
Requirements
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent experience
Solid engineering fundamentals - Electrical and Mechanical
Fluency in Matlab / Simulink
Systems level thinker with evidence of driving product design optimization across products, disciplines, and teams
Fundamentals in power electronics and battery technology ()
Experience with system level architectures comprising electrical and FW/SW sub-systems
Specification definition (performance and functional)
Detail-oriented personality with effective documentation and reporting skills
Experience solving open-ended engineering problems
Motivated, active collaborator

Expected Compensation
$112,000 - $234,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
