Growing private equity backed construction services company is looking for a CFO.
Duties include:
o Overseeing the preparation of financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow, etc.), Work in Progress (“WIP”) file, monthly reporting package, and management discussion and analysis
o Ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (“GAAP”) or International Financial Reporting Standards
o Overseeing the month-end and year-end closing processes
o Overseeing monthly and quarterly lender reporting requirements
o Ensure the year-end audit is completed promptly
o Reviewing financial reports for accuracy and identifying trends or discrepancies
o Assisting in the preparation of board presentations and related documents
· Budgeting & Forecasting
o Assisting in the development of budgets and financial forecasts
o Monitoring financial performance and providing variance analysis
o Recommending cost-saving initiatives and financial improvements
o Maintain a monthly backlog and pipeline for each division
· Internal Controls & Compliance
o Implementing and maintaining internal controls and policies to prevent fraud and errors
o Ensuring compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and company policies
o Coordinating audits and responding to audit findings
· Cash Flow & Treasury Management
o Monitoring cash flow and ensuring liquidity for business operations
o Overseeing banking relationships and overseeing financial transactions
o Controlling expenses and optimizing working capital
· Leadership & Team Management
o Leading the accounting team and ensuring efficiency in financial operations
o Hiring, training, and mentoring finance staff
o Collaborating with other departments to align financial goals with business strategies
· Tax & Regulatory Compliance
o Overseeing tax planning and ensuring timely filing of tax returns
o Overseeing sales tax, payroll tax, and corporate tax obligations
o Keeping up with changes in tax laws and financial regulations
· Technology & Process Improvement
o Implementing accounting software and financial systems
o Automating processes to improve efficiency and accuracy
o Recommending new financial tools or technologies
· Strategic Financial Planning
o Providing financial insights to support expansion, acquisitions, or investments
o Evaluating financial risks and opportunities
o Evaluating and planning for capital expenditures and analyzing ROI payback
Qualifications
· Accounting degree, supplemented with an optional CPA or CMA, or equivalent experience level
· Experience with contractor or manufacturing accounting, specifically with comfort with job costing, percentage of completion (“POC”) method of accounting, and working with WIP files
· Experience with GAAP compliance, completing year-end third-party audit requirements, and filing traditional federal, state, and employment tax filings
· Experience working with private equity is
