What You’ll Do

  • Knowledge and experience with AWS D1.1 and or ASME codes
  • Interpret codes and specifications in accordance with the drawing requirements
  • Use a computer to compile and submit data of acceptance or rejection of inspections
  • Recommend and approve repairs as well as perform visual inspection of work in progress and completed work
  • Knowledge with the process Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), and Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW)
  • Experience with maintaining WPSs and PQRs.
  • Knowledge of programming and operating automated welding systems
  • Verify and document welder qualifications
  • Verify the compliance of base metals with the applicable specifications
  • Appraise welding joint designs and joint preparations for compliance with drawing
  • Verify proper fit, cleanliness, and environmental conditions
  • Verify the conformity of the welds
  • Verify preheat and inter-pass temperatures
  • Assure the proper control and handling of welding consumables
  • Verify the inter-pass and final cleaning
  • Assure product conformity to drawings and specifications
  • Verify cleanliness and weld surface quality
  • Have knowledge of other NDT Processes
  • Ability to support the training of welders.
  • Confirm adequate documentation of fabrication and inspection activities
  • Assist in the training and development of other teammates
  • Interpret, evaluate, communicate, and report findings to production, engineering, and management teams

Additional Expectations

  • Remain compliant with the Code of Conduct and Policies which includes the Kingspan Group Compliance Policy.
  • Ensure that all duties related to product compliance are adhered to in accordance with the Product Compliance Policy, Laws, Regulations, and market demands.
  • Responsible for all tasks to achieve compliance goals and demands of the Compliance Management System.
  • Must raise concerns related to the Compliance Management System to their supervisor, manager, or any member of the Leadership Team, or through the confidential whistle blower service.

What You’ll Bring

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Previous fitting and welding experience is required
  • 5-10 years experience with the process Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), and Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW)
  • Must be able to read and understand blueprints and shop drawings
  • Must be able to perform basic math such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, geometry and some trigonometry
  • Current American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification
