ZimZee Recruiting is looking for a Certification Engineer. This role provides engineering and technical support for the evaluation, testing, and certification of electrical equipment and emerging technologies. The Certification Engineer will manage certification testing activities from project initiation through completion, supporting FAA TSO, STC, and PMA activities while ensuring products and documentation meet applicable regulatory and quality requirements. The ideal candidate brings hands-on electrical testing experience, strong knowledge of applicable standards, and the ability to manage detailed technical work and coordinate effectively with internal and external resources.

Skills and Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience testing and certifying electrical equipment.
• Direct experience working with applicable industry, regulatory, and/or military standards and specifications.
• Hands-on experience using oscilloscopes, digital voltmeters (DVMs), data acquisition systems, and other electrical test equipment.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to organize, prioritize, and manage testing activities through completion.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field ; familiarity with RTCA DO-160, RTCA DO-311A, MIL-STD-810G, MIL-STD-461F, and FAA TSO requirements is also .

Key Responsibilities

• Develop certification test plans, test reports, and supporting project documentation.
• Execute testing programs to verify compliance with regulatory and quality requirements while meeting established project deadlines.
• Manage certification testing activities from project initiation through completion in support of FAA TSO, STC, and PMA activities.
• Coordinate testing activities and requirements with external laboratories and other technical resources.
• Design, build, and specify equipment and test setups required to evaluate products.
• Support prototype builds and evaluations, including assessing new technologies, components, and designs for quality, functionality, safety, and certification considerations.
• Provide testing support for production activities as required.
