Job Title: Category Analyst
Department: Sales & Marketing
Reports To: Director of Business Development
Position Summary
The Category Analyst plays a key role in supporting the Sales and Marketing teams at NuCal Foods and its affiliated companies. This individual collaborates cross-functionally with Sales, Customer Service, Operations, Accounting, and Regulatory teams to provide data-driven insights and support business growth.
The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, accurate, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously. This role requires leveraging both internal and external data sources, while also supporting packaging initiatives, regulatory compliance, and marketing development efforts.
Key Responsibilities
· Support the sales team in establishing NuCal Foods as a recognized knowledge leader within the category.
· Maintain and analyze sales reports; proactively identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
· Develop ad hoc reports, dashboards, summaries, and visualizations, translating data into actionable insights.
· Record, manage, and ensure accuracy of pricing data.
· Work within multiple customer data portals to support reporting and insights.
· Support packaging initiatives, including coordination of packaging specifications, updates, and documentation.
· Assist with regulatory compliance efforts, including maintaining product information, label accuracy, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
· Contribute to marketing development projects, including product launches, promotional analysis, and customer-facing materials.
· Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to exceeding expectations.
· Communicate clearly and consistently with supervisors and cross-functional teams.
· Build and maintain strong working relationships across departments.

Qualifications & Experience
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent food industry experience .
· 1-2 years of experience in an analytical or support role but not required.
· Experience supporting regulatory, packaging, or marketing functions is a plus.
· Proven ability to analyze data and deliver actionable insights.
· Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
· Self-starter with a service-oriented mindset; dependable, persistent, and results-driven.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
· Advanced proficiency in Microsoft D365, Power BI, Excel; working knowledge of PowerPoint and Word.
· Ability to quickly learn new systems, customer portals, and tools.

Compensation & Benefits:
Starting wage: $25/hr. opportunities for growth and performance-based bonuses and pay.
