Summary: The CAD Technician is part of a team focused on supporting large scale development programs for major clients within the Energy sector. The CAD Technician utilizes AutoCAD and other software to create a variety of design, permitting, and client specific exhibits and datasets.
Expected results in the role:
- Creation and QA/QC for the work of others to produce high quality and accurate exhibits and deliverables.
- Completion of assigned drafting tasks within established metrics.
- Applying knowledge of permitting regulations to site layout and exhibit creation.
- Continual advancement of both drafting and regulatory knowledge.
Essential Duties:
- Utilize AutoCAD to draft and QA/QC the work of others for permitting and design exhibits.
- Utilize existing templates for exhibit creation.
- Utilize Microsoft Excel to create spreadsheets and tables.
- Edit GIS databases via AutoCAD FDO connection to update attributes and feature geometry.
- Learn rules, regulations, and client design specifications and apply understanding when drafting exhibits.
- Edit and support written process documentation.
- Complete work within the prescribed metrics as set by the Coordinator with minimal errors.
- Track assigned work/budget/timeline and communicate with Coordinator to determine priorities of multiple tasks.
- Work with Coordinator to understand expectations of metrics for drafting and meeting milestones of project deadlines.
- Communicate with team members, Coordinator and Production Manager on workload status to meet designated utilization goals.
- Identify opportunities for product improvements and or efficiencies.
Competencies:
- Intermediate level proficiency with AutoCAD (Civil 3D is a plus).
- Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Intermediate level proficiency knowledge of Oil and Gas Rules and Regulations.
- Intermediate level proficiency knowledge of O&G industry equipment and nomenclatures.

Required Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1+ year of work experience using AutoCAD.
Other Need-to-know items:
- Night and Weekend work may be necessary to meet client deadlines.
- You will be exposed to different workflows, processes, and data sets to determine your aptitude for working with various products.
