Job Description

Owen Daniels are currently working with a well-established and growing fire and life safety contractor who is looking to recruit an experienced CAD Technician (Fire) to join their design team based in Wolverhampton.


This is an excellent opportunity for a CAD Technician with proven experience in fire alarm systems to work on a variety of commercial and residential projects, supporting design, installation, and compliance requirements.


The Role


As a CAD Technician, your responsibilities will include:

  • Producing detailed 2D CAD drawings for fire alarm systems
  • Designing layouts in line with BS 5839 and relevant fire safety standards
  • Liaising with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure accurate designs
  • Updating and amending drawings throughout the project lifecycle
  • Supporting technical documentation and as-built drawings


Requirements

  • Proven experience as a CAD Technician within the fire alarm/fire protection sector
  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Good understanding of fire alarm system design and regulations (BS 5839)
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications and drawings
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines
  • Full UK driving licence ( but not essential)
