CAD Technician/Drafter

Jet is looking for a skilled individual to help in Engineering. This person will answer to the Engineering Manager and work alongside Product Development Engineers and Tooling Designers. This person will spend most of their day modeling and drafting in SolidWorks and making prints to assist the Engineers and increase overall throughput in the department. This will be done by completing requests and changes by modifying and generating CAD data, and then supplying the data to tooling, sourcing, costing, or manufacturing. Direction for design will be provided in the requests, or by an Engineer. This position also includes the opportunity to learn CNC programming to help with the creation of programs, so Mastercam programming experience is a plus.

Job Requirements:

• Skills with SolidWorks CAD software.

• Knowledge in blueprint making.

• Basic understanding of tolerancing and dimensioning.

• Ability to use MS office (Outlook, Excel), basic computer skills.

Additional Desired Skills (Not Required, but Preference Will Be Given For):

• Skills in AutoCAD, SolidWorks PDM, and Mastercam.

• Knowledge of GD&T.

• Knowledge of manufacturing with CNC routers.

• Understanding of Vacuum forming.

• Mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities Include:

• Updating CAD files for changes.

• Generating CAD under the direction of a Product Development Engineer.

• Generating part prints.

• Supplying engineering data for costing.

• 3D scanning parts.

• Organizing and maintaining data within PDM.

• Potentially document control in the future.
