CAD / Quoting Engineer
Location: Sittingbourne
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 DOE
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: Straight day shifts

Our client is a respected name in sheet metal fabrication, working with a wide range of materials and delivering high-quality engineered solutions across multiple sectors. They are now looking for a skilled and detail-driven CAD / Quoting Engineer to join their office-based engineering team.

The Role
As a CAD / Quoting Engineer, you will:
Produce accurate 2D and 3D CAD models, drawings, and technical documentation
Prepare detailed quotations, costings, and material estimates
Use the company ERP system for job processing, routing, and BOM creation
Collaborate with sales, production, purchasing, and internal teams to ensure feasibility and manufacturing alignment
Review customer drawings, specifications, and requirements for compliance and manufacturability
Support continuous improvement initiatives (experience with Lean principles is beneficial but not essential)
Provide technical support to assist both sales and production teams This role is key in ensuring engineering accuracy, efficient production readiness, and smooth project delivery.

About You
You will bring:
Experience as a CAD Engineer, Design Engineer, Estimator, or similar fabrication/manufacturing role
Strong understanding of sheet metal processes — laser cutting, folding, welding, fabrication, finishing
Proficiency in 2D & 3D CAD software (Radan, SolidWorks, or similar)
Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems
Excellent interpretation of technical drawings and specifications
Strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills
High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
Solid knowledge of materials including mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium, and related alloys Apply now
