Maverick Applied Science, Inc. is a nationally recognized mechanical engineering consulting firm, specializing in the specification, design, inspection and construction of industrial equipment for corrosive applications. We are a growing consulting company with increasing opportunities and industry demands. To meet these challenges, we are expanding our engineering staff and capabilities. One of our primary focuses is detailed engineering of piping, ductwork, tanks, stacks and chimney liners, using composite materials. These applications are some of the most challenging and demanding projects currently being undertaken in the country.

We are looking for a responsible draftsperson, having 1-5 years' experience, having strong technical skills, works independently and willing to meet these challenges as an active part of a close-knit engineering team. We use Solid Edge, a premium 3D modeling CAD software, as our primary design program, so experience with 2D and 3D CAD is desirable, although we will expect some measure of training for the qualified candidate.

Requirements

• Experience in the mechanical discipline is desirable, although all attributes will be considered.
• As much of the work will be with developing components in a 3D environment, strong fundamental analytically skills are necessary.
• Must be proficient with the computer, office software and CAD tools.
• Experience with a 3D CAD software program, such as Solidedge or Solidworks, is a benefit.
• Experience in developing 3D components and part assemblies in a modeling environment to be used for creating detailed fabrication drawings.
• Drafting/design responsibilities would include incorporating modifications into existing designs, developing component models and to scale fabrication drawings from initial concept.
• As we are a small engineering company with challenging work, which places responsibility with every employee, a professional attitude and commitment to excellence is required.
• Must be willing to take on multiple responsibilities, greater challenges and to continue professional growth and to advance engineering skills.
• A successful applicant must pass a drug test.
