DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include but are not limited to the following, as other duties may be assigned.

GENERAL OPERATIONS

  • Interact directly with the Senior Designer and help with permit production plans and plan check process for tenant improvement projects and spec suites projects.
  • Work with the rest of the production team and help address plan check corrections, coordinate with various cities and ensure timely delivery of project permits.
  • Ensure effective and timely communications with the construction team, property management team and leasing team and keep everyone updated on the project permit status.
  • Help produce pricing plans for tenant improvement projects or spec suites if needed.
  • Provide project team coordination for the tenant improvement space plans, pricing plans and construction documents as needed.
  • Participate in the construction administration of projects, and help with coming up with technical design details if needed.
  • Review designers’ plans and help with overall quality control process.

TECHNICAL PREREQUISITES

  • Ability to communicate in a positive and professional manner with property managers, building engineers, leasing team, tenants’ architects, subcontractors, and DEB employees.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or Architecture and 2+ years of related commercial/corporate interior production experience strongly preferred.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD. Photoshop knowledge is a plus.
  • Technical background including knowledge of building codes, construction materials, and construction techniques.
  • Familiar with plan check process at various cities.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills and will have the ability to thrive in a high volume, fast-paced work environment where attention to detail and compressed turnaround times are highly valued.

  • Requires frequent walking, lifting, bending, standing, reaching and the ability to ascend/descend stairs
