CAD/ CAM Programmer in Houston

This position is responsible for developing and optimizing programs for flat sheet and tube metal fabrication — including laser cutting, press brake, and other fabrication processes. The position collaborates closely with production teams to ensure efficient, accurate, and manufacturing results.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

·       Create, modify, and maintain 2D and 3D CAD models, flat patterns, and CAM programs for laser and fabrication equipment

·       Generate and optimize CNC programs for laser cutting (flat and tube), punching, and bending operations using BySoft CAM, Fusion 360, and related software

·       Interpret customer drawings and specifications to produce accurate production-ready files (DXF, STP, NC code, etc.)

·       Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure manufacturability and precision

·       Integrate and maintain program data within Global Shop Solutions (ERP) and utilize Zumen for document control and revision management

·       Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to nesting, tooling, and machine compatibility

·       Support continuous improvement by refining programming standards and templates for efficiency and repeatability.

·       All other duties as assigned by employment
