The CAD Technician is responsible for assisting the engineering department with creating detailed technical and electrical drawings on proven solutions.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Revit and Navisworks experience. 
  • Support electrical design by creating, developing and maintaining accurate 3D models.  Familiar with family creation and clash detection coordination with other MEP systems
  • Make detail and layout drawings from verbal or written information.
  • Must be able to take a rough sketch and create a CAD drawing
  • Will be responsible for working with customers to troubleshoot and problem-solve.
  • Works independently on the development of original designs.
  • Prepares shop drawings which include installation instructions.
  • Review information, drawings, reports, and other documents from field site surveys and create technical drawings
  • Participate in various meetings to project status, delay issues, and to perform problem resolution to ensure fulfillment is possible
  • Ability and willingness to work weekends and overtime as required to meet important deadlines

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • AutoCAD Certification or advanced proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Knowledge of MicroStation, Revit, and other CAD software
  • Proficiency in MS Office programs; Excel, Access, Word, Outlook,
  • Proficiency in Google Earth, Google Maps, and/or other satellite-based mapping software
  • Must be able to work with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, both proactive and reactive
  • Must be able to read, write, and understand English.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Ability to pass a background check and drug test
  • A two-year associates degree in technology or 2-years’ experience in electrical circuits is a plus
  • Capability to learn new software quickly and integrate knowledge into solutions
  • Ability to multitask in a demanding work environment while maintaining exceptional attention to detail
  • Demonstrated customer service skills with the ability to handle high pressure, time sensitive issues
  • Exceptional planning, organizing and follow-up skills
  • A self-starter, passion for improvement, and desire to learn
  • Good oral and written communication skills; ability to present survey reports/requirements to client/customer as needed
