JSG is seeking a highly skilled CAT6 Cabling & CCTV Installation Field Technician to specialize in deploying, testing, and troubleshooting high-performance structured cabling and security camera systems across various client sites. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, manual dexterity, and excellent problem-solving skills to deliver reliable, high-quality network and security solutions. As an integral part of our installation team, you will ensure that all systems are installed in accordance with industry standards, client specifications, and safety regulations.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Cable Installation & Termination:
• • Running, measuring, and terminating CAT6 cables in commercial and industrial environments with precision.
  • Ensuring all cabling meets standards such as T568A/T568B wiring configurations.
  • Managing cable pathways through ceilings, walls, and conduits, including working in tight or elevated spaces.
• CCTV System Deployment:
• • Installing security cameras, DVR/NVR systems, and associated accessories.
  • Configuring IP-based surveillance systems, including network setup, camera positioning, and angle adjustment.
  • Connecting cameras to network switches and ensuring proper communication across client networks.
• Testing & Troubleshooting:
• • Using cable testers, network analyzers, and CCTV software tools to verify cable integrity and system functionality.
  • Diagnosing and resolving issues related to connectivity, image quality, wiring faults, or system conflicts.
  • Ensuring 100% system uptime and optimal performance post-installation.
• Documentation & Reporting:
• • Documenting all installations with detailed reports, including cable routes, patch panel configurations, and system settings.
  • Creating accurate as-built drawings and system diagrams for client records.
  • Communicating progress, challenges, and completion status to project managers and clients.
• Compliance & Safety:
• • Following all OSHA safety protocols and using safety gear diligently during installations.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work environment, including safe handling and disposal of wiring and tools.
  • Adhering to local building codes and industry standards (e.g., BICSI, NEC).

Technical Skills & Qualifications:

• Cabling:
• • Extensive hands-on experience running and terminating CAT6 cable.
  • Knowledge of punch-down blocks, patch panels, and testing tools for copper wiring.
• CCTV & Network:
• • Proven ability to install, configure, and troubleshoot IP CCTV systems, including network settings, port forwarding, and remote viewing setup.
  • Familiarity with network components such as switches, routers, and PoE injectors.
• Tools & Equipment:
• • Proficiency with crimpers, punch-down tools, cable testers, and fiber splicing tools.
  • Experience with ladder work, drill operations, and safety harnesses in various environments.
• Technical Certifications ():
• • BICSI Technician Certification or similar.
  • OSHA safety certifications.
  • Industry-specific CCTV or networking certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA).

Educational & Experience Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent; technical training or apprenticeship programs .
• Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in structured cabling and CCTV installation.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret technical schematics, drawings, and wiring diagrams.

Additional Skills & Attributes:

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for customer interactions and team collaboration.
• Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to various job sites as needed.
• Bilingual skills are a plus but not mandatory.

Physical and Work Environment Details:

• Capable of lifting and carrying equipment and supplies up to 50 pounds.
• Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying weather conditions.
• Flexible schedule to accommodate installation times, which may include evenings or weekends.
