Overview
We are seeking an experienced Offshore HSE Superintendent to support the safe execution of major offshore oil and gas development activities. This role is responsible for promoting a strong safety culture, monitoring contractor compliance, supporting offshore operations, and ensuring health, safety, and environmental requirements are effectively implemented across project activities.
The successful candidate will act as the primary HSE representative offshore, working closely with project teams, operations personnel, and contractors to ensure the highest standards of safety performance are achieved.
Key Responsibilities
HSE Leadership

Promote and reinforce company HSE policies, procedures, and objectives across all offshore activities.

Act as the offshore HSE focal point for assigned project locations.

Provide visible safety leadership and promote a proactive safety culture.

Ensure contractor compliance with project HSE requirements and contractual obligations.

Identify, intervene, and report unsafe acts, conditions, and behaviours.

Support the implementation of HSE campaigns, initiatives, and improvement programmes.

Participate in project HSE meetings, inspections, audits, and training activities.
Daily Activities

Attend daily HSE and operational coordination meetings.
-
Conduct regular site inspections and safety patrols.
-
Support offshore HSE Supervisors and operational teams.
-
Review and follow up on safety observations and action items.
-
Participate in coordination meetings with operations and project personnel.
-
Prepare and submit daily HSE reports and performance updates.
Weekly Activities
-
Lead weekly HSE meetings with contractors and offshore teams.
-
Conduct weekly HSE tours and site inspections.
-
Monitor implementation of HSE action plans and safety programmes.
-
Coordinate participation in vessel and offshore facility inspections.
-
Support workforce engagement through HSE awareness and communication activities.
-
Review HSE performance metrics, observations, and action tracking systems.

Monitor workforce training and competency compliance.
-
Participate in toolbox talks and safety briefings to verify quality and effectiveness.

Support emergency preparedness activities and verify completion of required drills.
Project Support
-
Work closely with project, operations, construction, commissioning, and maintenance teams.

Support safe execution of offshore activities in a multi-contractor environment.
-
Assist with SIMOPS coordination and interface management activities.

Monitor contractor HSE performance and recommend corrective actions where required.

Support incident investigations and implementation of lessons learned.

Ensure compliance with company standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
Requirements

Degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related discipline.

Recognised HSE qualification such as NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent.

Significant offshore oil and gas experience.

Previous experience in an HSE Superintendent, HSE Advisor, or HSE Supervisory role.

Strong knowledge of offshore construction, commissioning, operations, and SIMOPS activities.

Experience managing contractor HSE performance.

Strong understanding of risk assessment, permit-to-work systems, incident investigation, and emergency response.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
-
Ability to influence positive safety behaviours across multicultural workforces.

Strong report writing and presentation skills.
