Buyer/Planner
Responsible for purchasing and inventory planning of all raw materials and components for Parsecs' products, including engineering developments. Additional responsibilities include negotiating pricing, quantity, and delivery commitments with suppliers. As well as planning the flow of raw materials and components as directed. Responsible for identifying and resolving discrepancies between actual receipts, purchase orders, and invoices as necessary.Must have experience with MRP systems, contract negotiations, vendor management, purchasing, and planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Purchasing all components, raw material and consumables for the company.
- Working with NetSuite to plan and track inventory levels.
- Negotiate prices, timing, transportation, and contracts.
- Maintaining adequate supply of materials by ordering, expediting and communicating changes to the supply chain as defined by MRP system and Planning.
- Communicating shortages to production planning and management.
- Managing material supply and the supply chain: Identifying changes in requirements, rescheduling and/or cancellation of existing purchase orders, tracking supplier performance and implementing corrective action as needed.
- Assuring data integrity of all purchased material data elements in material master within the scope of the Purchasing Department; including Vendor/Part data, PO delivery dates, accurate costs, procurement lead times, lot sizes, payment terms etc.
- Reducing risk of supply by evaluating new and existing suppliers, regular monitoring of supplier performance, supplier financial viability, Business Continuity Plans, Product Change Notifications, End of Life notifications.
- Buyer/Planner is responsible for providing regular supplier evaluation reports (SER) and monthly report cards to key suppliers.
- Reducing costs by managing cost reduction activities with suppliers and internal organizations.
- Improving inventory turns (reducing inventory levels) by scheduling optimal material deliveries, minimizing slow moving inventory (SMI) and obsolete inventory, implementing consignment, Kanban, vendor managed inventory (VMI) and lead time reduction programs with suppliers.
- Resolves issues with supplier and internal organizations. (Quality, Receiving, Import/Export, Accounting, Engineering, etc.)
- Projects include developing and improving fulfillment efficiency with suppliers and other internal departments. Projects/Process improvements include electronic data interchange (EDI), negotiating & improving contract terms, supporting CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility/Green Procurement Activities, Rack and Cabinet Integration (RCI) and Services process improvements.

Required Qualifications
5 years' purchasing experience working with manufacturers, fabricated material and/or electronic component suppliers.
Bachelors degree, or equivalent experience related to component purchasing, supply chain, economics or accounting.
Skills and Experience
- Work experience with NetSuite with the Advanced Inventory and Receiving capabilities of this software is .
- Ability to negotiate number of different commodities: PCBs, electronic components, cable, cable assemblies, and metal fabrication.
- Experience working with high level material requirement planning (MRP) system and planners to analyze and revise MPS to reflect changes to domestic purchase orders.
- Expertise on freight forwarding, duty and customs regulations.
- Excellent communication skills, (written, verbal, presentation).
- Strong attention to details, highly organized, proficient in Microsoft Office, Strong Excel Skills, & SAP knowledge.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced professional office environment
- Experience working with both US and foreign suppliers.

Shift:Monday to Friday 9:00AM to 5:30PM
Salary: Starting at $70,000.00 per year
Salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
