Job title:\nBuyer\n\nJob location:\nDerby\n\nRate:\n£20.50ph\n\nHours per week:\n37.5\n\nDuration:\n6 month contract\n\nStart date:\nImmediate\n\nClient Summary:\nA leading name within the Rolling Stock / Rail repair and modifications sector.\n\nPosition Summary:\nBuyer involved in both direct and indirect materials and service procurement. Special\nfocus on engineering based categories.\n\nRoles can include:\n* Process purchase requisitions and raise purchase orders in line with company procedures\n* Support supplier negotiations to achieve best value, quality, and delivery performance\n* Manage and maintain purchase orders, including amendments and updates\n* Monitor order progress and proactively follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery\n* Resolve supply or delivery issues, escalating more complex matters where necessary\n* Maintain accurate procurement data within internal systems.\n* Assist with supplier performance monitoring and reporting\n* Support cost control initiatives and identify opportunities for savings\n* Collaborate with internal departments to ensure procurement needs are met efficiently\n* Provide general administrative support to the procurement team as required\n\nPerson Profile/Experience:\n* Strong literacy, numeracy, and IT skills\n* Previous experience in a procurement, supply chain, or fast-paced administrative role (desirable)\n* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities\n* Good analytical and problem-solving skills\n* Basic understanding of procurement processes or supply chain principles (desirable)\n\nQualifications:\nCIPS Level 3 (Desirable)\nExperience in a similar role\n\nContact Information: James Bell\nEmail: (url removed)
