VTG is looking for a Business Process Engineer to support the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD), Surface Missile Technical Representative (Tech Rep) Office, Tucson Arizona supporting the IWS 3, IWS-11, IWS-12, and Missile Defense Agency Program Offices located onsite in Tucson, AZ. 

What will you do?
 

  • Business Process Discovery: Extracts information from existing records, documentation, and systems to identify and understand the underlying structure, workflow, and elements of current business processes and inter-relationships among processes
  • Business Process Modeling: Creates process models and diagrams to visualize business processes; Establish process boundaries, interactions, and dependencies; And to facilitate analysis efforts
  • Business Process Analysis: Examines business processes to clarify business operations and uncover areas for improvement using analytical methods including cost, root cause, cycle time, and what-if analyses
  • Business Process Design: Defines, simulates, and tests future state business processes and works with project teams and business stakeholders to roll out new processes or process improvements
  • Business Process Documentation: Produces business process data reports and detailed narrative documentation and ensures process documentation is appropriately catalogued in the designated business process repository
  • Requirements Gathering: Uses process modeling and analysis along with other information gathering techniques to elicit, specify, and validate business needs and translate business needs to requirements
  • Requirements Analysis: Analyzes and verifies requirements for completeness, consistency, comprehensibility, and conformity to standards
  • Requirements Documentation: Uses standard templates to write clear, well-structured requirements and track the status of requirements throughout the project lifecycle
  • Requirements Review and Validation: Conducts regular review of requirements, refines requirements, and communicates requests to change requirements to project management; Ensures all requirements are traceable against the defined business needs
  • Performs other job duties as needed

Do you have what it takes?
 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or information Technology or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in the following areas: business process management, requirements management, business analysis, IT engineering and operations, project management, and business intelligence or similar focus
  • Strong experience with modeling standards
  • Exceptional oral communication and comprehension skills with the ability to ask the right questions and gather information from listening
  • Exceptional written communication skills, including technical writing for process, requirements, and use case documentation; Writing reports; Making presentations
  • Ability to design, organize, and lead group meetings efficiently and effectively with in-depth experience successfully harmonizing diverse and competing interests
  • Ability to think creatively and work collaboratively to solve business challenges
  • Ability to analyze information objectively, make an impartial judgement, and clearly articulate a position with sound logic, supporting empirical evidence, and impartiality

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with Microsoft suite of tools, particularly Microsoft Planner and workflow automation
  • Understanding of organizational continuing improvement philosophy and principles
  • Demonstrated history of identifying process gaps and inefficiencies, and implementing process improvements
  • Understanding of technology and system interface requirements and development (e.g., Application Programming Interface (API))
