Business Operations Manager
Job Description
We are a growing consultancy based in central Hertfordshire, who are keen to acquire the right candidate in supporting the Managing Director with the running of the entire operation.This key role reportsdirectly to the Managing Director and plays a critical role in supporting business as usual operationsas well as special projectsand strategic decision making.The successful candidate willwork closely with the MD andhave wide rangingoperational experience, with strong commercial acumen and problem solving capabilities.Key responsibilities:StrategySupporting the MD, acting as a sounding board in determining future strategy and requirementsStaffManaging and supporting staff, holding them to accountEnsuring they are delivering their objectives and corporate prioritiesPersonnel reviews and restructuring conversations and implementationSkillsIdentifying required skill sets for the business and recruiting to positions where requiredEnsuring inductions are properly planned and undertakenMI and dataAnalysis of data and scenario planningEnsure required financial and business information is delivered in a timely fashion and in a way appropriate to the audience in order to support business decision making (includes meeting prep, MI, personnel data etc)Systems and processesEnsuring that systems are optimised, kept up to date and complied withTechnologyIdentify opportunities for new technology to speed up working practices and reduce overheadEmbrace AI and develop opportunities for efficiencyEnsure effective technology interface with the office (includes diary management)CommunicationsWriting and delivering presentations and other collateralEnsuring staff are kept apprised of key informationInterface with key stakeholdersBusiness OpportunitiesIdentify, assess and/or support business opportunities inside and outside the core businessConduct due diligence (eg Portugal)FinanceCash flow oversight and interfacing with accountantTracking adviser remuneration for TP project etc via client conversionsUnderstand money flows and FUMComplianceEnsuring compliance issues are managed including back log in GMTEnsure FCA returns are completed and submitted on timeKey skills and experience requiredAproven,proactive approach to managing business operationswith strong commercial acumenA resilient individual with the ability to work under pressure both as an individual and as part of a teamExperience of managing staff and getting the best from themStrong verbal and written communications skillsand experience of managing diverse stakeholdersAdaptable, multi-tasking capabilitywith ability to juggle priorities as requiredKnowledgeof financial sector and /or banking or financial services.TPBN1_UKTJ
