Job Summary:
The Smart Building Controls (SBC) Business Development Manager (BDM) will be responsible for working closely with internal and external partners to ensure the profitable growth and expansion of the SBC business unit. This includes but is not limited to developing strategic and tactical account/customer plans and assisting with the development of marketing campaigns and content development. This job requires working within and managing an end-to-end sales process and partnering closely with EMCs sales organization, including account executives and account managers.
The SBC BDM should have a deep understanding of the building controls market, including existing service providers, manufacturers and suppliers, emerging technologies and trends, and use cases. Additionally, this position requires the ability to communicate and write well as the SBC BDM will be responsible for driving sales, responding to RFPs, and assisting with proposal development. Finally, the role requires an entrepreneurial mindset and willingness to be curious and continually learn.
Essential Job Functions:
- Be a go-to technical resource on building controls for EMCs Sales and Marketing team
- Review and conduct research on products, services, competitors, and market trends to develop and inform future business strategies and tactics
- Develop and execute strategic account plans for identified targeted accounts and any assigned marketing qualified leads
- Be able to manage and work through complex sales processes including identifying key stakeholders and decision makers
- Develop customer relationships with all stakeholders, key decision makers, and executives
- Manage end-to-end sales activities with targeted accounts and contacts within the CRM
- Set high standards that will align with the organizationsgoals
- Other duties as assigned

Education:
- Bachelors degree in a discipline that demonstrates curiosity, technical acumen and problem solving
Experience Required:
- Minimum 5+ years: business development/strategic marketing/product management of technology products and/or services
- Experience with Novar, NexRev, JCI and/or Siemens systems
- Expert with MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience using CRM applications such as SalesForce.com
Physical Job Requirements and Working Conditions (include if applicable):
Travel up to 30%- The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
