The Role

We’re hiring a Business Development Representative who knows the staffing industry and has a track record of securing and growing client relationships in the construction and engineering sectors. You’ll help us build and expand our client base by developing new partnerships, deepening existing ones, and shaping strategic opportunities with general contractors, engineering firms, developers, and infrastructure organizations.

This role works directly with the CEO and executive team — strategy, influence, and ownership matter.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, engage, and build relationships with clients within construction, engineering, infrastructure, utilities, and related sectors.

  • Develop a strong understanding of WPS service offerings and communicate our value clearly and confidently.

  • Manage the full business development cycle: outreach, meetings, proposals, negotiations, and handoff to delivery teams.

  • Attend client meetings, project site visits, and industry events to build trust and credibility.

  • Source new business through a mix of warm relationships, referrals, LinkedIn outreach, call campaigns, and in-person networking.

  • Partner with internal recruiting and delivery teams to ensure strong execution and client satisfaction.

  • Track pipeline, forecasts, and account activity with accuracy and follow-through.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • 5–10 years of business development experience within a staffing or talent solutions firm.

  • Direct experience supporting construction or engineering staffing in the Mid-Atlantic and/or Northeast region.

  • Background working at a midsize or larger staffing firm where a structured BD process and performance metrics are standard.

  • Demonstrated success in building new accounts, expanding existing clients, and managing relationship pipelines.

  • Strong communication skills and presence — someone who prospects confidently and speaks the of the field.

  • Willingness to travel for client visits, jobsite meetings, industry conferences, and regional relationship building.

  • Comfortable collaborating closely with senior leadership and contributing to firm's growth strategy.
