Building Services Engineer - Portsmouth or Stevenage
Pay: Up to £29.89 per hour PAYE / £40 per hour Umbrella
Contract: 12 months (likely extension)
Are you an experienced Building Services Engineer looking for your next challenge? Our client is seeking a meticulous professional to oversee and inspect building services installations across major projects. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in ensuring quality, compliance and excellence in every aspect of construction.
The Role
As a Building Services Engineer you'll act as the client's eyes and ears on site, conducting thorough inspections of mechanical, electrical and fabric installations (including HVAC, plumbing, fire systems and controls). You'll identify and resolve defects, maintain detailed site records and prepare clear reports for management. Liaising with contractors and stakeholders, you'll ensure projects meet design specifications and statutory regulations.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
Qualification in Building Services Engineering, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Construction, or related discipline (HNC/HND, Degree, City & Guilds).
Proven experience as Clerk of Works, Site Inspector, or similar.
Strong knowledge of building services systems and Building Regulations.
Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
Competence in AutoCAD and relevant software.
Full UK driving licence (travel between Portsmouth & Stevenage sites required).Desirable:
Membership of ICWCI.
Health & Safety qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH).
