Building Safety Coordinator /Business Support
MRJ Associates are working on behalf of our client Enfield Council, who are recruiting for Building Safety Coordinator/Business Support within the Local Authority paying up to £24.79ph.
YOUR NEW CONTRACT
* Minimum 3 Months contract - Starting ASAP
* 36 hours per week across a 5-day rota.
* Up to Payrate £24.79 per hour (Umbrella)
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Building Safety Coordinator will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and compliance of our high-rise residential buildings within our council housing stock.
The successful candidate will be required to work from within the community both on an individual basis and as part of a team. The aim is to actively contribute to the development and smooth running of the high-rise locations in accordance with local policies, procedures and legislation.
This position will involve overseeing the safety of the building through a robust inspection regime and working collaboratively with various stakeholders to maintain safe living environments for . This will include crucial customer engagement to ensure significant information is documented and updated on the person-centred fire risk assessments (PCFRA).
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
* Work flexibly to deliver high quality of services provided in respect of Estate Operations service and to provide effective engagement on building and fire safety in high-rise properties
* To maintain a clear understanding of the objectives, direction and development of the service area to meet changing needs, with particular emphasis on customer relations, continuous service improvement and ensuring that a positive image of the Council is always portrayed.
* To contribute towards the development of a culture within the service which is customer focussed, committed to ensuring value for money and to provide a high standard of customer service, health and safety and the Council’s core values
* Provide property management function ensuring that all health and safety, ’ safety, testing and regular inspections are undertaken, relevant repairs are undertaken and that the properties, blocks, schemes and estates are compliant with prevailing legislation and regulations.
* Carry out block-based inspections to assess risk, undertake periodic PCFRA’s and to ensure key findings are reported to the relevant service
* Ensure that all , public and member enquiries and complaints received are responded to and matters resolved end to end; escalate as appropriate
* Ensure data and records are maintained in accordance with agreed standards and in keeping with the Data Protection/Freedom of Information regulations including the regular housekeeping of computerised and paper information following document management processes.
* Carry out all accountabilities in compliance with the Council’s Policies and Procedures
Experience, Knowledge
* As a regular and intrinsic part of this role requires you to speak to members of the public in English, the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential and consistent with the requirements of this role. This role also requires you to be polite and courteous when conversing with the public.
* Experience of regular face-to-face engagement including experience with working in a customer service type role.
* Knowledge of relevant health and safety and ’ safety regulations (including PCFRA’s function)
* Experience of working in face-paced environment, with many competing priorities
* Experience of maintaining partnerships
* Knowledge of housing law and building safety act 2022
