PRIMARY PURPOSE:

  • Maintain the operation of all District facilities as required to meet department responsibilities. 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent from an accredited institution (required)
  • Must have valid Texas Driver's license and satisfactory driving record
  • General knowledge of commercial maintenance and carpentry
  • Commercial Painting and Flooring Experience
  • Mechanical Aptitude and ability to learn
  • Familiar with safe operation of power tools  

MAJOR RESPONSBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Maintain and repair District physical facilities and structures and complete programmed maintenance procedures
  • Maintain all physical buildings and structures including concrete, flooring, drywall, acoustical ceilings, and commercial carpentry, as directed by department foreman
  • Coordinate, organize and complete daily assignments, assuming responsibility for proper documentation regarding assigned tasks, works orders, and procurement of supplies
  • Initiate work orders within assigned zones as needed
  • Assume responsibility for daily directives as given by appropriate administrators
  • Abide by all AISD policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
  • Assume responsibility for care of assigned service vehicle, tools, and equipment
  • Assume responsibility for personal timekeeping and communication and documentation of absences
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to serve the needs of the District as determined by departmental leadership
  • Maintain effective and positive communication and rapport within assigned department and with all other areas of contact 

WORKING CONDITIONS: 

  • Indoor and outdoor work environment
  • Exposure to extreme temperature ranges
  • Significant walking, standing, climbing, lifting, bending, stooping and reaching
  • Frequent district-wide travel in light duty pick-up truck
