Job Description
Performs maintenance work for the Department of Athletics at multiple athletic facilities. This type of work often includes, but not limited to: daily inspections, installations, general maintenance (plumbing. HVAC, electrical, carpentry) and repairs. Maintains general building maintenance (lights, doors, HVAC equipment, plumbing fixtures). Performs preventative maintenance on various equipment throughout the Athletic complex’s (including air handler belts and filters, exhaust fan belts, bleacher seating, retractable seating, doors, ceiling tile, water filters, drinking fountains, and other equipment). Orders supplies and equipment. Responds to work orders and service requests in a timely and professional manner. Collaborates with other technicians, supervisors, and contractors to complete projects.
Assists with set up and event needs for athletics and other building events.
Typical schedule is Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pm.
Shift hours, days, and or location may vary based on event schedule. May work overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays subject to 24-hour emergency call.
Minimum Required Qualifications
High School diploma or GED. Certification or vocational training may be required. Associate degree in relevant field may be . 2 years of relevant experience required. 4-6 years of relevant experience .
Required Qualifications
Per Classified Civil Service Specs or equivalent education/experience. Required: Extensive knowledge of trades including carpentry and general building maintenance. Must be able to work nights and weekends and be available for 24-hour call.
Desired Qualifications
Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools, as well as operation of electrical multi meters and other testing equipment. Basic understanding of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry). Certificate in maintenance related fields
Additional Information:
The pay range for this position is $22.93 - $29.95 (min - mid). The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit's available budget, and the candidate's education and experience.
