Complete Building Controls Inc. is seeking a skilled and motivated Building Controls Field Technician to join our growing team. As a Field Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of building automation systems (BAS) and related equipment. You will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of our clients' building systems, contributing to energy savings and occupant comfort. Travel to other states will be 50% of position
Responsibilities:
• Install, configure, and commission building automation systems (BAS) including controllers, sensors, actuators, and other related devices.
• Perform preventative maintenance on BAS equipment, including inspections, calibrations, and replacements.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose system malfunctions, identifying and resolving issues efficiently.
• Program and modify control sequences using various software platforms.
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Collaborate with other trades, such as HVAC technicians and electricians, to ensure seamless integration of systems.
• Provide technical support to clients, explaining system operation and addressing their concerns.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, including service reports, time logs, and material usage.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
• Stay up-to-date on the latest technologies and advancements in building automation systems.
• Manage assigned projects and meet deadlines.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, colleagues, and clients.
• Travel to various job sites as required. Travel to other states will be 50% of position
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate's degree in a related field .
• Proven experience (typically 2+ years) as a Building Controls Field Technician or in a related field.
• Federal background check required
• Drug test required as well as random testing throughout employment
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems and building automation principles.
• Proficiency in programming and troubleshooting various BAS software platforms (e.g., Trane Tracer Summit, Johnson Controls Metasys, Siemens Apogee, Honeywell WEBS-AX, Niagara, Distech).
• Knowledge of electrical wiring and control circuitry.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment.
• Ability to work in various environments, including confined spaces and extreme temperatures.
Qualifications:
• Experience with specific BAS brands or software platforms (e.g., Trane, Johnson Controls, Siemens, Honeywell, Niagara, Distech)
• Certifications related to building automation or HVAC (e.g., Niagara AX/N4 Certification, BACnet Certification).
• Knowledge of networking and IP communication protocols.
• Experience with energy management systems.
