  Job Description:
  The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) seeks a Senior Bridge Inspection Engineer/Team Leader to supervise and perform inspections of bridges, large culverts, and retaining walls in compliance with Bridge Inspection Standards. This role includes managing inspection teams, reviewing reports, coordinating emergency inspections/repairs, and ensuring public safety and infrastructure reliability.

  Requirements:

  • Indiana PE license (or ability within 6–9 months)

  • Bridge Inspection Team Leader certification (or ability within 12–15 months)

  • Strong knowledge of bridge/culvert inspection principles and maintenance methods

  • Ability to interpret technical plans, prepare reports, and supervise staff

  • Valid Indiana driver’s license; ability to perform physical inspection tasks

  • NHI “Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges” & “Fracture Critical Techniques” – Highly Desired

• : Experience with inspection access vehicles, Asbestos Inspector licensure, or SPRAT Level 1 certification.
