BMS & Controls Integration Engineer\n\n£55,000 - £70,000 DOE + Package\n\nLondon & South East / Field-Based\n\nAs a BMS & Controls Integration Engineer, you will be responsible for surveying, designing, installing, and commissioning integrations between commercial building systems and a cloud-based energy platform.\n\nWorking closely with facilities teams, end users, and specialist contractors, you will oversee projects from initial site assessment through to successful commissioning and handover.\n\nThe role offers a mixture of field-based engineering, technical design, commissioning, and client-facing responsibilities, providing exposure to a wide variety of building types and technologies.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nConduct site surveys to assess BMS infrastructure, HVAC assets, and integration requirements.\nProduce technical documentation, integration designs, and scope of works.\nInstall and commission controllers, gateways, metering systems, and communications infrastructure.\nConfigure and troubleshoot BACnet, Modbus, and IP-based integrations.\nSupport cloud onboarding, point mapping, and control logic validation.\nCommission interoperability solutions between legacy and modern building systems.\nMaintain accurate site records, drawings, and commissioning documentation.\nLiaise with clients, facilities management teams, and subcontractors throughout project delivery.\nDiagnose and resolve integration and networking issues across multiple sites. \n\nThe Ideal Candidate\n\nPrevious experience working within Building Management Systems (BMS) or Building Automation.\nStrong knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, and building controls integration.\nExperience commissioning and troubleshooting commercial BMS systems.\nUnderstanding of HVAC plant including AHUs, chillers, boilers, heat pumps, and VRF systems.\nAbility to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics.\nExperience working with low-voltage controls, RS485 networks, and IP-based systems.\nStrong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.\nComfortable working independently and managing multiple sites.\nFull UK Driving Licence. \n\nDesirable Experience\n\nExperience with Trend, Niagara, Schneider, Siemens, or similar BMS platforms.\nExposure to IoT, smart buildings, or energy management technologies.\nExperience integrating HVAC central controllers and third-party interfaces.\nUnderstanding of networking principles including IP addressing, subnetting, and VLANs.\nExperience producing technical drawings and integration documentation.
