BIW Structural Engineer
Job Description
RLE International are looking for a BIW Structural Engineer to support their client for an exciting new project based in Oxfordshire on a 6 month contract:\n\nRate: £34per hour (Outside IR35)\n\nJob Description & Responsibilities:\n\nDFMEA activities including:\n\n * System DFMEA based on CO content from Beta designs that are introduced\n\n * Component DFMEA with DV activities captured\n\n * Control cascades to process and quality\n\n * Quality database and review of prevention and control measures\n\n * Rescore DFMEA and action plan for high AP scores\n\nComponents delivery end to end ownership to deliver a suitable product for production\n\nincluding:\n\n * Component design and requirement validation activities\n\n * DFM / DFA related activities with suppliers or internal stakeholders\n\n * Component assembly\n\n * Servicing and repairs strategy – support aftermarket\n\n * Ownership of issues related to component that are found during build or test\n\n * Change management and reporting\n\n * Component integration and interface control to systems\n\n * Cost, mass and timing in line with the programme targets and requirements\n\n * Engineering sign off documentation – requirement satisfaction, evidence gathering\n\n * Drawing checks to identify SC / CC are applied correctly and any drawing change recommendations\n\nComponents DV activities support including:\n\n * Support DV team with SoW / TSoW based on the test requirements\n\n * Support DV team with test specification and sourcing\n\n * Interpret DV test results and reporting to technical forums\n\n * Archive test cases and link to DFMEA update as required\n\n * Support DV tests at test houses with test team – as required\n\n * Reporting on status vs target\n\n * Build support through the Beta maturation including:\n\n * Components MRD and inspection\n\n * Components pre fitment and ok to issue to build sign off\n\n * Logging of issues in assembly and concerns\n\n * Owning of issues resolution and implementation\n\n * Reporting on status vs target\n\nYou must have:\n\nA good technical understanding and knowledge of structural components within a power system and able to demonstrate an end-to-end component ownership and delivery from initial requirements.\n\nHas a good understanding and ability to use:\n\nTeamcenter, Jira, MS Office, SharePoint, Polarion\n\nHas experience with and has conducted product DFMEA activities previously\n\nStrong experience in applying Systems Engineering methodology\n\nCan run autonomously with tasks and report on status or issues in completing them\n\nAdditional Information:\n\nRole is based in Oxfordshire and attendance at both technical and operations sites are a minimum 3 days per week and should be within a maximum 1 hour commute.\n\nOccasional travel and support DV activities at test houses as and when requested.\n\nTravel costs to be covered.\n\nNote: Sponsorship is not offered for this role and you must have eligibility to work in the UK
