Job Title: Safety Coordinator II – 1st Shift
Pay Range: $29.95–$38.85 per hour (Based on Experience)
Schedule: 1st Shift | Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (some flexibility to 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM may be required)
Job Type: Temp-to-Hire
Location: Huntington Beach, CA
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Safety Coordinator II to support environmental health and safety (EH&S) initiatives at a manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will have 2–5 years of experience in workplace safety, with a strong understanding of OSHA regulations, training facilitation, and accident prevention strategies. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct monthly safety performance audits and inspections.
- Track and follow up on safety-related action items.
- Deliver new hire safety orientations and job-specific training.
- Lead or assist with accident and incident investigations.
- Maintain and update safety rules, policies, and training documentation.
- Facilitate employee certification in moving vehicle equipment (MVE).
- Support emergency management programs, including evacuation drills.
- Assist in developing job safety analyses (JSAs) and hazard assessments.
- Coordinate and monitor contractor safety compliance.
- Maintain accurate safety records and compliance documentation.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on health and safety policies and standards.
- May support multiple facilities and require local travel.
Required Qualifications:
- 2–5 years of experience in a safety-focused role, ideally in manufacturing.
- Familiarity with OSHA and Cal/OSHA regulations (Title 8 and 29 CFR).
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Experience in training, auditing, and investigating safety-related incidents.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- OSHA certification or EH&S coursework.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
- Valid California driver’s license (or ability to obtain one).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field.
- ASP, CSP, or related professional safety certifications.
- Knowledge of ISO/OHSAS standards.
- Exposure to multi-site operations or contractor safety oversight.
Physical & Environmental Conditions:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, walk/stand for extended periods, and work in environments with machinery, noise, chemicals, and dust.
- May be required to work at heights, on uneven ground, or with biohazard exposure.
- Use of PPE such as safety glasses, gloves, respirators, and hearing protection is required.
