Bid Manager / Tendering Engineer\n\nA well-established organisation operating within the electrical infrastructure and power distribution sector is seeking an experienced Bid Manager to support its growing portfolio of projects.\n\nThis permanent role focuses on the delivery of substation construction and upgrade works across low to high voltage networks (up to 132kV), supporting both regulated utilities and privately owned networks. The role is primarily home-based, with occasional travel to project and client sites across the UK.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nReview tender documentation, clarify technical and commercial requirements, and coordinate the preparation and submission of high-quality proposals\nManage bid activities from initial enquiry through to final submission and post-tender engagement\nLead commercial and technical discussions with clients to refine scope and develop competitive offers\nIdentify risks and opportunities within tender submissions and ensure appropriate mitigation strategies are applied\nWork collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external partners to strengthen bid responses and maximise success rates\nCarry out or coordinate site visits where required to support accurate scoping and costing\nDevelop detailed cost estimates incorporating labour, materials, subcontractors, and delivery methodology\nPresent tender submissions for internal approval and oversee handover to delivery teams upon successful award\n\nCandidate Requirements\n\nDemonstrable experience in bid management or tendering within infrastructure, utilities, or engineering environments\nRelevant engineering qualification (electrical or power systems , but not essential)\nBackground in high voltage or substation-related projects is advantageous\nStrong commercial awareness and experience in cost estimation and proposal development\nAbility to engage confidently with clients and internal stakeholders\n\nPackage & Benefits\n\nCompetitive salary in the region of £60,000-£70,000 depending on experience\nCompany vehicle or allowance\nFlexible / home-based working arrangement with travel as needed\n25 days annual leave plus bank holidays\nPension contribution scheme\nOngoing professional development and career progression opportunities\nSupportive and collaborative working environment\n\nApplication\n\nIf you are looking to take the next step in your career within a forward-thinking engineering environment, we encourage you to apply
